Savannah’s Place

 

 

Hello and welcome to my blog site. My name is Savannah and yes this is my very first time at blogging…yes…a virgin blogger lol. I am being gently nudged along by a great friend of mine… thank you Nick (my prodder lol). It is Sunday morning in Australia and I am sitting here typing to you over breakfast. I have just got back from the central coast where I have spent time sitting on the beach and trying to destress from the pressures of university. Being chained to a computer and desk studying makes Savannah a dull girl. However, I came back relaxed, recharged and ready to go.My children are my first love but I won’t talk about them much in this space. So000 since I am at university a lot of this blog will contain ramblings about things I discover as an English and Australian History student. I will hate some things then grow to appreciate them as I actually understand them, all part of the learning process. I will more than likely post some of writings on here and will provide footnotes and referencing where I can for those interested in looking at where I have found my information.

Another part of my interests are through an online community at Starchat. I have many friends in there and many interesting discussions happen mainly involving Americans but also including Kiwi’s, Brits, Canucks and some European friends. These discussions can become heated at times and some people lose the plot but I learn a great deal especially about politics overseas that is very relevant to Australians. I have made many great friends. I have a room on the channel called #CityDownUnder which is just beginning so drop in and say hi

I have many things I would like to experience and many of them will have to wait until I finish my degree like travelling o/seas. The places I most want to visit is France, especially the Palace of Versailles and its gardens. It took so long to build but its technological break throughs were incredible as were the human costs in building it. I would also like to visit England, Italy and Europe. I also plan to study the french and maybe Italian languages after I complete my teaching degree.

I want to learn more as a history student about my country and our place within this global village. I want to learn to ice skate and play the guitar. I hope that through this blog that my friends can come with me on my journey through life and new experiences.
